Book Review: Reborn in Shadow (Shadow Walkers #3)

It’s all about kilts, pirates, women, dogs, dragons, and more misfits happening in March. The story actually starts on my birthday, too bad that it wasn’t a happy beginning.

Now that I’ve read three books and a novella, I can honestly say that men are nothing without women by their side. 😉

Things got darker in this story though some light was shed on Hamish (which I was thankful for). I no longer hated him after reading about what really happened to his and Colin’s parents.

The gods are still up to no good. There’s a threat at the end of the book which gives us an idea of what happens in the next book. Some are reunited and some are lost. Oh and I want to try that wine opening trick!

I would recommend this to eighteen and over. Prepare to shed some tears.

Pitching tip for self-published authors Part 2

I wasn’t going to do a follow up post to Pitching tip for self-published authors but a recent email changed my mind.

This morning I have received an email titled “Book Review Exchange Request” and decided to check it out. I’m part of a Goodreads group where we exchange books for reviews and it’s really a fun time so I’m never surprised to receive such emails.

However, when I started reading the email, I realized that this author, let’s call him Bob, already made the request on August 21. I denied doing the exchange due to the genre of the book, to which I did not get a response to.

I don’t mind receive a request twice. It happens. Self-published authors spend hours looking for bloggers to read their book and email hundreds to which only a few respond. Though here’s a tip: Check your email for the email or person that you’re emailing if you’re not keeping track of whom you have contacted so you won’t email that blogger twice. The best case scenario is that you will be ignored. The worst case scenario is when the blogger would respond to you and you don’t want a mad blogger emailing you.

So here’s the kick of today’s email.

  1. He didn’t check his sent box in his email
  2. He made a mistake of naming my book
  3. He apologized without naming my book
  4. It took him an hour to realize his mistake
  5. He didn’t address me directly

I darkened out some parts so you guys won’t be able to find Bob.

Tip: Learn from this email and try not to do what Bob did.

I am still thinking if I should reply with “Please do not contact me again.” or I should just ignore it.

If you guys think that I should reply, please help with the appropriate phrasing. I do have a feeling that this was not the last time that I heard from Bob.

Book Review: Iced in Shadow (Shadow Walkers #2.5)

Book Title:   Iced in Shadow iced

It’s all about kilts, pirates, women, dogs, dragons, and more during Christmas time.

It’s a good story for parents because they can think about how they treat their kids. It’s hard having an older sibling and harder when parents talk about favorites.

It’s a good story of hope because one can start being thankful for who they have in their lives. Even the god was happy to be invited to a celebration. It’s about family.

Since there are some sexual scenes, I would recommend this to eighteen and over.

Fall 2016 Bookish Bingo: Take 2

I’m reading for fun this turn around and it would be interesting how many  books I will read on my own without thinking too much about which squares I have left. ^_^

Book Review: Desired by Shadow (Shadow Walkers #2)

It’s not kilts this time, but sexy pirates who love redheads.

The story continues on, involving Colin and Emily, Monroe, and Robert. We see more of the gods, their war. And see a new romance between pirate Robert and a redhead named Maggie.

Robert and Maggie have a lot in common. Both grew up tough and went through hell while being young, which what makes this a match made in heaven (though I’m not sure heaven was ever mentioned in this book universe).

More curse breaking and this time we got more of Fury and Draken. Guys, you will love Draken. We don’t see much of him because he comes in very late in book 2, but hopefully there will be a lot more of him in the rest of the novels.

Not for younger than eighteen. Highly recommended. I will continue reading onto book 3. Can’t wait to read what happens next!

Book Review: Lost in Shadow (Shadow Walkers #1)

Kilts. Sexy, tall men. Kilts. American girl. Scottish (very old man) man.

This was my first magical reading about girl falling for a guy in a kilt. Yes, I’m still hung up on that, though it is easier to get into bed with one…

It’s about soulmates, war, gods, and more. Emily died for eight minutes, only to return with the power to see ghosts or in this case Walkers. She ends up meeting Colin, a Shadow Walker (whom no one else can see) and falls in love deeply. Now, what you need to know about Emily is that it’s simple to keep her happy. Just give her a coke with ice. ^_^

It’s a fast read, over eighteen readership, and very interesting. I highly recommend to those who want to read about paranormal romance that is other than vampires and werewolves.

I got nominated for the Sunshine Blogger award (my first time) and this makes me so, so happy!

This honor was given to me by Tammy @ A Word About Books– Thank you so much! This is going to be fun.  Tammy is from Bavaria in Germany. Wie geht’s? Tammy had an opportunity to be an exchange student and be at Texas. I’ve been to Texas once… too hot for me. Though, I’ve never been an exchange student, I’ve hosted students from Germany, France, Mongolia, and Lithuania. All great experiences. ^_^

Please check out her blog! Great content!

  1. What’s your favorite thing to do during Christmas time? Not Christmas, but the time around it!

I love decorating and taking out my little Village. Every year I add on a house to my collection and my friends who have kids love coming over and looking at the little village.

I also love cooking. It takes hours but lots of fun because family and friends join in.

2. What’s a quote that makes you laugh every time you hear it? By that I mean a funny quote not one you find ridiculous? 😉

3. Your thoughts on adult colouring books?

It was shocking when they came out. They are everywhere! My best friend loves coloring. I haven’t got the time, but I love how there’s such a variety and it sounds like it’s a great stress reliever.

4. If you were told you could travel in time but only to one era, where (or more like when) would you go to?

To the time of the ancient Mayas so I could learn how their calendar came to be, directly from them and hear the theories on 2012.

5. What’s your favorite movie based on a book and….

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I really love the first movie and I don’t have to reread the book. It’s well done, beautiful and enchanting. The other movies are not as good as the books.

6. … your least favorite movie based on a book?

Alice in Wonderland (any versions)

7. What’s your favorite book outside of your usual genre?

The Godfather

8. Which place, that you haven’t been to before, would you like to visit?

It’s cliche but I really want to visit Hawaii.

9. Which book universe would you like to be a part of?

mail This is book 1 in the series of events happening at “Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.” Sounds like a fun place to be at.

10. Tea or Coffee?
