Since, I’m a new mother, I jump when I see books for babies, toddlers, and kids. I wanted to read this book before reading to my kid to get an idea of my reaction beforehand.

Each letter has a page with 5 words and illustrations. There were a couple of words that I didn’t think were right for toddlers- such as, ink-pot and oven (the picture if of a microwave so it threw me off), and urn. Each illustration was bright and happy and could possibly hold his attention. I love the layout, it’s simple and to the point.

When it came to numbers, I liked number 9. 😉

Conclusion: A good learning tool and will be reading it to my son when he would be more interested in things. ^_^

  1. Kids books are hit and miss. Especially for young kids. I usually take mine to the library or bookstore and let them eyeball before buying. It helps me get an idea of what appeals to them. I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 16 month old.

    • Mine is 2 months and 2 weeks old. Too early for books but I already got children stories in French, Russian, and English and I have a Vietnamese-English dictionary.

I chose to read this one because it was on KU so no money spent and a fast read. ^_^
