The Embers We Seek - Ep 1-1280x2048

The Embers We Seek

Publication Date: May 30

Genre: Fantasy/Myth Folklore / fairytale retelling / romance

Publisher: Acacia Parker

A fairytale retelling in a land of magic and war, see Cinderella like you’ve never seen her before.

As Captain, Wren is sworn to protect the soldiers she leads into battle, which includes preventing a potential massacre in an upcoming campaign that could mean the end of the war in Heros. But defying orders from her Lord could mean a noose around her neck…

If she gets caught, of course.

Accompanied by men and women willing to accept the risk, Wren knows they need a miracle to overpower the sorceress who controls the magical creatures surrounding the city of Eius—one grand enough to win Sortis the victory they’ve been after since the War of Giants began.

There’s always a price to be had where magic is involved, though. A price she doesn’t realize until it’s too late.

One that might just cost Wren her life.

The Embers We Seek is a serial series, meaning a new episode of 8 – 15,000 words will be published in the last full week of every month. Cinderella’s tale will be completed in ten episodes.

About the Author

15676215

Acacia K. Parker has never been the shy one. With her father having served in the Air Force for twenty years, she’s enjoyed homes in many different states, as well as an eight year stint in Germany (and no, she doesn’t speak German, even though she really wishes she did). The odd encounters with various strangers and places morphed her brain from normal to quite unnatural, and what better way to tame the voices in her head than to become a writer?

Oh, and she’s an artist, too, although getting their faces down on paper only shuts them up for so long (but it certainly helps).

When she isn’t falling prey to the voices, Acacia enjoys jamming out to her favorite Spotify playlists, spending time with her husband, drinking wine, and hanging out with her two writing buddies, Boomer and Sookie (think eighty-pound Golden Retrievers).

You can check out more on Acacia’s website, or proceed to stalk her on all her social media platforms (the choice is yours).

Book Review: Wildflower ~ A Balconies Novella

Book Title: Wildflower ~ A Balconies Novella balc

Book Author: Emma Jayne Mills

Rating: 4 Dragon Paws 4

You can read this Christmas romance during any time of the year. For ages 18+ for language, sexual teasing, sexual thoughts, and sex. The guy in this romance falls hard from a first glance for a free spirit type of girl and does everything that a good boyfriend would do to woe her from getting her a Christmas tree to filling her shop with flowers. Both have histories, quarks and awesome friends and family members. It’s a fast read with a pretty cover. The main guy also was in the military along with his Father and brothers so there could potentially be some triggers.

This was such a funny read with sooo many funny thoughts from both lead characters. I always wondered if there was a book out there where a werewolf had to pretend to be a dog to his life mate and it finally happened! This book is a paranormal romance with sexual scenes, curses, and sincere feelings.

For ages 18+. Get ready to smile while reading this.

Book Review: Getting Even

Book Title:  Getting Evengetting even

Totally fun read, top 10 books for the year for me. If you guys have seen First Wives Club, you guys will love this book. It has awesome ladies, an idiot of a husband to a lady learning to be strong again, and a hot book boyfriend. For ages 18 and over. There’s some mild language, sex. A fast and engaging read, I laughed a lot!

Book Review: Maribel’s Decadent Miniatures

Book Title: Maribel’s Decadent Miniatures marible

Book Author: Theresa Sederholt

Oh my stars. There is a huge surprise behind this adorable cover. It’s so much more than what you see. It’s another book that I won and I didn’t read the blurb, just started reading. It’s about three people finding their destiny in a small town because of one photo. It’s about importance of family and memories, and responsibilities. It’s about taking charge of own life… even if you start to at the age of 40. It’s also a paranormal romance that involves cowboy boots.

I highly recommend to paranormal romance loves, age 18 and over.

Book Review: Sexy in Purple

Book Title: Sexy in Purple purple

Book Author: J.C. Layne

Rating: 3.5 Dragon Paws 4

The cover is super awesome, totally love it. I won a copy from the author which was pretty cool. It’s not my usual read. This book is a fast paced, romance, not intended for teenagers. I would say 21+ and over. I learned a new term thanks to the book… One can read it in an hour or so. However, I would say that be prepared for some typos. They don’t stop you from liking the book, but they are there. This is a good book for valentine’s day or if you’re looking for something sexy.
