My 2017 Reading/Blogging Goals

So, I’ve seen a couple of bloggers talk about their goals for 2017 and decided to join in. I don’t have many goals since this year is going to be plenty busy, but I’ll try to do my best to keep up to date with this amazing community.

A gift of Short Story

Holidays are still in the air for my family until January 13 so I will post the last short story gifts by then or at the latest by January 28 (Vietnamese New Years) ! Don’t worry. I didn’t forget about you guys…I didn’t think that I’ll be going on vacation…

Blog Tours

I need to learn more about those and maybe spend some money on a couple for 2nd Edition of Deity’s Soulmate. Hoping to release it by February. If any of you have recommendations for blog book tours, please let me know and I will check them out.

Discussion posts

I know that I’ll have some of them coming up for sure! And not all of them would be about books so please check them out when they will be up and join in. I do not know how many there will be per week or month, but it’s something to look forward to.

Goodreads Challenge

I exceeded my goal for 2016 by like A LOT. Chances are that it’s not going to happen this year unless I read really specific books so I’ll make my goal – 20 books. Small? I know, but I’m trying to be realistic and I don’t want to feel bad at the end of 2017.

Keep reading happy books

This one is personal so if there will be any book review requests, please make sure that that your book is happy and doesn’t have any crime, hate, pain, and other bad things. I liked that in 2016, I read a lot of “feel good” books and I want to continue to do so in 2017.

Piggy bank

I just learned about this! Such an amazing idea! It’s where you drop a dollar in a jar or a piggy bank every time you finish a book! Isn’t that great? Motivation to finish and to have some savings at the end of the year. I would have saved about $120 if I did this for 2016.

Publish 2nd edition of Deity’s Soulmate

Yes, it’s happening and as already mentioned by end of February. Fingers crossed. If any of you would like to be my beta readers, I wouldn’t say no. ^_^ Please reply to this blog post that you’re interested in being a beta reader. This is a fantasy story line with Greek gods, romance, dragons, and 13 days of creation. Not religious, just a way of looking at how life gets created. Will be sending out in hopefully 3 weeks…

What are your goals?

  1. Those look like awesome goals. Is second edition of Deity’s soulmate a sequel or a redo? If its a sequel then I’d better buy the first one. 😀 Best of luck with this year, I’m sure it’s going to be epic. ❤

    • Thank you.

It’s a redo. I’ve started on book 2 but realized that the book needed to be edited. I published that one with little knowledge about the publishing or editing world so it needed a lot work. With this redo, the English had been fixed, the organization of chapters (from 33 chapters to 12) and with more new characters that helped to enhance the story line.

haha would be better to buy the redo ^_^ There will also be a new cover. Still deciding on what to do about it though…

Thank you. What are your goals? Did I miss your post? There were so many posts last week!

      • Cool! Doing a redo can be awesome. You find you can relate to characters and perhaps understand the story more too. One of my stories which I hope to publish this year went from one idea to something even better with a revision and things. I’m still working on it though.
I will definitely by the new version then!
I did list my goals at the end of this post: https://talesofryllia.wordpress.com/2016/12/31/happy-new-year/
There has been a lot of post recently with people coming back from holidays and things. I’m looking forward to everything people are planning though!
