Book Review: Hearts Are Like Balloons @literarydust

Book Title: Hearts Are Like Balloons balloons

Book Author:  Candace Robinson

Source: K.U.

Rating: 4.5 Dragon Paws 5-paws

Warning: Emotional triggers- woman who are pregnant, new mothers/fathers, and those who have lost a loved one be aware that there are some scenes that are hard to swallow.

First of all, I love the cover. I get a feeling that the balloons will any minute fly away. Second of all, I’m really impressed with the story telling. It has the right tone and conveys May’s feelings perfectly. The reason behind deducting a .5 is because there were a couple of missing quotation marks and it was a bit confusing to read.

Back to talking about this amazing piece of work. I’m very happy that I finally got a chance to read May’s story. It was a pleasure seeing her grow, especially after so much tragedy. When it comes to stories of the heart,  the emotions are key and Candace nailed it. Sure, there was a couple of scenes that made me really depressed, but as May was able to pull through it, so was I.

I highly recommend this book to those who understand what hard times are and know that there is always something to look forward to.
