★★★★★-This was such a great story –
“This was such a great story. We get to see a young girl who isn’t inhibited by her handicap. Even though she is blind, she is a fiery heroine who takes it all in and makes the best of it. Angelina Kerner did a great job describing Chanel and how she uses her other senses. and Leon is just the best. I absolutely loved him.”
-Jill, Goodreads Reviewer

★★★★-This is an interesting concept for a book –
“This is a 3 1/2 stars
This is an interesting concept for a book . Chanel has been blind since birth but that hasn’t stopped her from doing her best at all she does . Even when she starts taking an experimental treatment . She has to take a pill every seven hours to see if it will bring back her sight . Then the one day she is attacked by the paparazzi about her father’s political views. Her parents decide that her being a senators daughter she needs a body guard . When they meet they don’t like each other very much . Will they survive to realize that they love each other and will Chanel’s eye sight come back .
This book is a good young adult read . The author does a great job describing the world of the blind . The characters are sweet and well written but there were a couple of times that I just couldn’t connect with the main characters . Chanel and Leon are characters that you will love or hate . . She al is independent and is not unfamiliar with nail salons, museums , going bowling and having fun . She is tough but also a little sheltered . Leon is the strong silent type. He is sexy and loves books . They are the perfect match .
The author does take us on a journey of how it is to be blind since birth and what a person would be like . The author does a great job in that aspect of the book . The story between Leon and Chanel was good but there were times where it kind of felt a little clumsy . Maybe I just didn’t connect with them as much as I should . Over all I enjoyed the story and will read more from this author .”
-Patricia, Goodreads Reviewer

★★★-A struggle –
“I’m really struggling with how to word my review for this novella. I like the story and thought it was interesting, I cared about the characters and wanted to know what was going to happen to them.
I think the author did a nice job of describing what it is like for someone who is blind. There were a few moments that seemed disjointed and clumsy. The phrasing and word choice used had reading through sentences or paragraphs to make sure I was understanding what the author was trying to convey.
The story moves along at a brisk pace, I read it in one sitting. There are story elements that are brought in that aren’t really explored or they are dropped all together. I would like to have seen these storyline threads explored more.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more from this author..”
-Kristine (A Cozy Booknook) , Goodreads Reviewer

★★★★★-I love that this book shows her capabilities more than her limits. –
I love that this book shows her capabilities more than her limits.
So much beauty in reading about a young woman who accomplishes so much. That she had extra struggle to do so is almost dimmed by her capacity to overcome. Yet better understanding the work and patience it took her to do so is amazing. Sweet love story with hope to brighter days ahead.”
-Staci, Goodreads Reviewer

★★★★★-A great story with an interesting twist.–
“A great story with an interesting twist. As you read the book you find out things you don’t know about the characters. The story definitely draws you in and makes you want to see how everything turns out. A must read!!!”

★★★★-Very interesting take on Greek mythology–
“Very interesting take on Greek mythology and nice twist to make it into something new. I’ve read a few books by this author and she’s great at making you feel like you’re right there in the story. Very descriptive and interesting. Would love to read more about this.”
-Jill, Goodreads Reviewer

★★★-This is a hard one to rate/review–
“This is a hard one to rate/review. I liked the story. I liked the tasks Gardenia needed to complete and the dragons and the Gods/Goddesses and Greek Mythology. I do think this story was kind of all over the place. Things came too easy for Garden it seemed. She was a little selfish, arrogant, and petty. She calls her family liars and greedy among other things. To give her the benefit of the doubt she grew up the same way somewhat. Yes, she is a little different but she’s shown the same traits in the book. I liked her but not all that much. I did feel for her because she was singled out because she thought a little different. She’s young but isn’t a child but surely acted like it at times. There was an abundance of telling in this book but not necessarily showing the readers much. Garden has to get through 13 days and she’s mastered a slow 4. So, obviously each book will be 4 days. These dragons’ personalities took me awhile to understand and like. They grew on me though. I think I would like to read book 2 at some point..”
-Monica, Goodreads Reviewer

★★★★-Overall rating: 4–
“An interesting look into the education of gods and goddesses as well as their creations. The main character, Gardenia, plays a spoiled youngster to a tee. She is exhausting but I do realize she is exactly as this author wants her to be. Having her reach out to dragons for assistance opened up many questions for me, which in turn kept me reading. This book is entertaining and can be read in an afternoon..”
-Patti, Goodreads Reviewer

★★★★★-One of my all-time favorite perspective on the old Gods. –
“What better than the rebellious youngster to stir the plot. So many old stories told of monumental feats. Yet here is a fresh new start. A love story combined with just what the egotistical hierarchy needed.”
-Staci, Goodreads Reviewer

★★★★★-I loved this book.–
“I loved this book. I have read a few of the other books by this author and decided to take a chance on this one. I couldn’t put it down. Written well and the story flows and does a very good job of explaining the Gods and Goddesses in the story and their relationship to each other. Also includes a very cool and different love story. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series!”
-Teri Ditchman, Goodreads Reviewer

★★★★-I was actually surprised that I enjoyed reading this story as much as I did–
“I was actually surprised that I enjoyed reading this story as much as I did.
Gardenia has been punished by Zeus to do a 13 day creational lesson that will take her a century to complete. Instead of choosing among her family for her teachers, she chooses to seek out the first race, the dragons.
By the end of this story, Gardenia has completed 4 days of her lessons.
Found her soulmate, a dragon nonetheless and not everyone is happy that the universe would bless a union between enemies.
Now she’s got to hide out among her new mates race because the Fates have a plan brewing that puts Gardenia right in the middle of a war.
I can’t believe this story ended the way it did. But I can see the need, because from the looks of things, there’s going to be so much going on and a new war between the Gods/Goddesses and Dragons as well as the Fates plans that it would make for a L A R G E book. I can’t wait until the second one releases. .”
-Lourin, Goodreads Reviewer

A Big thank you to Kelli, who was in charge of the event!

Kelli is amazing. She’s always on top of things and is able to manage more than 50 authors at once PLUS readers. I was part of her roundups twice and look forward to working with her in the future. If you’re looking for a book promoter on Facebook, she’s your gal!

I had a fantastic time at the event and got to talk to my readers during Meet and Greet! Thank you to the awesome readers who took time out of their busy schedules for reading my work and the work of other authors.

10th month of life- mother and author combo

He’s 10 months old and is adorable. ^_^

Let’s see, this month was exciting.

My son tried multi-grain cereal and rice cereal. By themselves, he doesn’t like them so we give him one spoon of cereal, one spoon of fruit puree- usually pears or bananas. We tried giving him potatoes and carrots but since it didn’t have salt or sugar, I don’t think he liked it that much. Need to ask his doc about adding salt or sugar though I don’t think that it’s a good idea.

Still co-sleeping. Hubby sort of accepted it, mainly because now I don’t put my son on his changing pad to sleep and he now sleeps in my arms so hubby got his side of the bed back. There’s a reason for co-sleeping, but it’s private so can’t really share it. For me, it’s because of what happened to me when I was a baby so I want my son to always feel like he’s loved and adored.

He has 5 teeth! I’m still breastfeeding and let me just say – OUCH! I mean most of the time, he’s nice and doesn’t bite but when we play, he sometimes bites me on my fingers, chest, nose….I have sooo many bite marks.

There was a lot more cruising this month!

Oh, a couple of times, he actually fell asleep while I was bouncing him on my knees (during work time). I was like, “you head is tilting.” Looked down. “You’re asleep!” Was interesting and adorable at the same time.

He has a favorite game! He takes a toy- doesn’t matter which and moves it around against the wall. I don’t know why he likes it, but he finds it fun. Him playing below with his car.

Until next time,

6th & 7th month of life- mother and author combo

He’s 7 months old and is absolutely adorable. ^_^

Let’s see, for the past two months, it’s been a trial. We went on his first vacation. He behaved beautifully! It ended on a sour note, though and you can read here why. There are photos from vacation on my Instagram. ^_^

I didn’t post about his 6th month because it’s been really hectic around here. Work has been busy every day- too many things that had to go out and stuff. There was a couple of bonfires, a couple of new outfits, and a liking to play with those toys that he can reach for. He still doesn’t sit on his own, but he’s trying to get up. Little cutie!

In his 7th month, we had a couple of sad events. Our dear cat passed away. You can read about her here. Then my mother got sick and then me. Yikes!

In his 7th month of life, he started to eat solids- he’s not a fan of squash. He’s okay though when it’s mixed with apples. He’s sometimes okay with banana, oatmeal and peach combo and he tried mixed vegetables. He crawled a little bit and gifted me with many many sweet smiles and chin kisses. ^_^ A life of a new mother is rewarding. Those smiles and laughs are gifts…cheesy but true.

Now onto me being an author/blogger.

The novella is finished and edited! It has an awesome surprise in there and I got to say that this one, you would WANT to BUY in PRINT. 😉 I’ll let you guys know soon about when it’s coming out and the fun Blog party that I’m going to have for it.

Both tours have ended a month ago. You can check them out here:

5th month of life- mother and author combo

He’s 5 months old and is absolutely adorable. ^_^

Let’s see this month, I was able to take my baths and took him to my friend’s birthday party. We didn’t stay long because my friend invited a reggae musician. He wasn’t bad, he was actually really good but the music was so loud that my son was trying to cover his ears with his hands. Though, his actions were cute, it would have been bad to stay so we left. At least we were able to say – Happy Birthday!

He met a couple more people during his 5th month – including 2 babies. He didn’t care for the first baby that he’d met but maybe it’s because he was sleeping? On his 5th month day, he met the second baby. She’s going to be 1 year old in one week. I already told the mother that our kids will be dance partners because I want my son to study ballroom. She agreed, knowing that when it comes to ballroom dancing, it’s always hard to find dance partners. ^_^

Oh, and he chooses his outfits! Every time, I give him two options between onesies and the one that he grabs is the one that he wears. ^_^ So far, he has two favorites – one with raccoons and one that is yellow with a phrase – Little Genius. Cute!!!

He still can’t sit up on his own but he’s having fun rolling over which is cool to watch. Also, he has a really cute and touching laugh. I hope to remember it, but I’m afraid that because he’s growing so fast that I will forget many cute things he does. Ugh. Problems of a mother!Toys. He’s grabbing on to rattles and small toys. He still likes biting on towels. It’s absolutely adorable. He’s also finding annoying that he can’t sit up. I guess, he’s tired of always being on his back though he does have tummy time. I took some awesome photos but being Russian and believing in superstitions, I think I will not share them yet.

Now onto me being an author/blogger.

I wrote a novella! The only thing that I’m going to say about it is- that it’s finished, went through two rounds of edits, read by two beta readers, edited by two copy editors, and will be sent out to an editor sometime this week! I’m not going to tell you guys on when it will be published, but I’m hoping for August 2017! SURPRISE!

Deity’s Soulmate Virtual Book Tour is going well! Got 2 awesome reviews and checked out a lot of cool bloggers. My pinterest account has a board dedicated just to the tour!

Seven Hours Tour is coming up!

seven hours tour

A little trivia: I started the novella on a whim after reading Aimee’s novel. Her writing made me want to try my hand at more of chick-lit and there you have it…a novella about a Cat. 😉

Anyway, before I go –

Tomorrow is an exciting day for a lot of bloggers! The Launch Party is tomorrow and I’m one of the hosts. It’s one of my longest blog posts and it was very fun helping R&R Book Tours! For more info – go here!

My 2017 Reading/Blogging Goals Update

So a couple of updates since my January post about my reading/blogging goals.

A gift of Short Story

It took a lot longer than originally planned and I apologize to Nil and the rest. When I created the “A gift of short story,” I was pregnant and excited to be writing because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to read or write as much, but then the last months before my son graced me with his presence, made me very tired. However, all of the short stories have been posted and could be found here.
