Gray! Like, oh my stars. I’ve been waiting for a story about him since the first book in the series. The cover is amazing as ever. All of the familiars made an appearance. One minus – too short! I can’t wait to see what happens next with the South side witches! This was a great case and was nice to get into Gray’s head. More please.

Book Review: Dead Wrong (Blackmore Sisters Mystery Book 1)

Okay, so I got this book in April and tried to start it maybe 10 times but couldn’t get passed the first chapter. I kept getting stuck on the same paragraph and frankly speaking found the first pages to be boring. However, I didn’t give up and finally was able to read it all the way through in October!

So this lady gets killed and the sheriff decides to blame one of the Blackmoore sisters. Good thing that the police force has a new cop who smells something fishy and helps out the Blackmoore sisters. It’s a great read (once you get passed the first pages) and the characters are awesome, especially the cat! That cat literally saves the Blackmoore sisters on multiple occasions. I’m not going to say how so read it yourself. ^_^

I recommend to young adults who like cozy mysteries, awesome cats and are cat people, romance, and attics.

Book Review: Killer Cupcakes

Book Title: Killer Cupcakescupcakes

I adore free books, especially if they are by one of my favorite authors. I believe this is a first book by Leighann that I read that didn’t have a paranormal aspect to it which is also fun.

First of all, the cover is very cute. The cupcakes don’t look killer at all and it promises to be a good read with all that pink.

Second of all, I miss my grandmother. She would have liked to hang out with the modern tech-savvy elderly ladies of the Ladies Detective Club. That made this cozy mystery all the better! I had it all pictured in my head when Lexy learned about her grandmother’s activities and that they have the latest iPad’s. Priceless!

So a bit about the book. Someone gets killed. Lexy is a top suspect and the cop in charge is her hot next door neighbor. Lexy owns a bakery and wants to solve the case before the cops cause it’s hurting her business so she seeks advice from the club, thinks up suspects with her best friend/employee, and eats burgers with the cop. What a fun mix. ^_^

Also, I loved the play on the word- Darling. That was a really nice touch!

Highly recommend to cozy mystery lovers!

A mysterious death brings Deputy DeeDee Clawson to the scene of a movie being filmed at an old mansion in Silver Hollow. Tucker Rockwood, the star of the movie, is found dead, a stake through his heart. Lots of people might have wanted to kill Tucker, but when DeeDee’s investigation points in the direction of the movie’s producer, Caine Hunter, she thinks she has her man.

My Review:

I love being right! (Not that I got it out of my system, onto the review.)

Our favorite characters are back and this time we get to learn more about DeeDee. For the first time ever, our favorite Quinn wasn’t at the crime scene, though our favorite cat made an appearance. It was weird at first and then I started laughing. That’s how good the beginning was and how it drew me in. A fast and entertaining read.

It was really nice to get inside DeeDee’s mind. So much well development as a character for the series. With this story, I started to emphasize with her, understand her more and her need for justice. We also learned more about the packs politics, how anyone has access to all movie props, and Caine Hunter. Caine Hunter was a surprise of a character and you guys will get it after you read the book (don’t want to spoil anything). I really loved the forest scene.

The best part is that the authors were able to have a good balance between the crime and the romance. Oh, we got more of the vampire, Ursula. You guys will smile when you see what role she had, besides being the examiner. I wish we did see more of Brimstone-that cat is still a mystery to me! How is that possible? We’re on book 4 and I still don’t know where he really came from!

I’m hoping the next book will be from the Gray’s point of view and him receiving some happiness. He’s been lonely for a long time and needs some love. Would be nice to see Cosmo again. Also, would be interesting on how the author would spin that story cause I have no clue on what she has in store for him. ^_^

I hope that I didn’t give anything away! I was like-  don’t talk about this and that. The book isn’t released yet.

This book is awesome and is my second favorite in the series so far! The first book still takes first place in my heart.

Enjoy reading the new installment when it comes out on May 23rd!

So, I was waiting for this book for like forever. I just adore this series. Issy is a fun character and I’m glad that …. oops almost said something that many would find to be a spoiler alert.

Anyway, there’s another death in town and the witch cousins are at it again! Solving the case that is. Seriously, they should be hired as consultants by the police or the FBPI… keep your enemies close kind of thing. Gordon, Dex’s pet has grown and we learned about what treats he likes (hopefully people don’t consider that a spoiler ;)). Also, I’m thinking in book 4, it’s going to heat up. Dex’s boss will return to the scene, we will learn more about the new character that graced the town, and hopefully will learn about DeeDee’s match. Maybe, he’s not that bad? For some reason, I think it’s the new character that graced the town…but hey I’m probably wrong.

Miss Dobbs did it again with this one. She’s still a favorite read of mine. I like hoe easy the reading is and that I was able to read it so fast in my small personal breaks. I recommend it to 16 and over.

Oh my stars! I mentioned last time that I added Leighann Dobbs to my favorite author list. She still is. My review for book 1 can be found here: Book Review: A Spell Of Trouble (Silver Hollow Paranormal Cozy Mystery #1)

In book two of the series, Izzy with her family are back, with full readhead witch powers. Along with them, we see back the local police, FBPI, and learn that Izzy and her family are Northies AND there is A Southies. Witch coven enemies- makes things all the more fun!

So, someone gets killed and Izzy is again on the case. It doesn’t help that Dex comes back into the picture, though I do wonder of what will happen in the books to come between them… especially since now they have a special bond. 😉

I can honestly say that I was shocked at the culprit, mainly because Izzy was focusing on the wrong suspects though I would have thought them to be suspects, too. All of the familiars are back and I still love them. They are coming along nicely with their powers.

The writing is fun and good for 16 years of age and older. Hardly any cursing, a feel of adventure, mixed with a cozy mystery. I highly recommend. Can’t wait for third book!

Oh my stars! Leighann Dobbs has been added to my favorite author list. Her writing is amazing, such imagination and now I am a fan of cozy mysteries. After reading the book, I signed up for her notifications, received a free e-book as a gift (which is awesome because many of you guys know that I am working on giving out a free e-book as well sometime in the future), and viewed her website. The author has a ton of series out and it’s quiet impressive! Okay, now onto the actual review.

Someone gets killed in front of Izzy’s place, which makes her and her cousin across the street to be prime suspects for the local police, paranormal committee, and the FBPI. You guys can guess what the FBPI stands for ;).

So, what makes this one different from other witch paranormal cozy mysteries. The hunk is compared to the Hulk or a Greek God. One of Izzy’s cousins has a plant for a familiar, and there’s a familiar who doesn’t belong to anyone but favors Izzy’s family. I also liked that the familiars were young and ‘in training,’ was a nice touch.

The writing is fun and good for 16 years of age and older. Hardly any cursing, a feel of adventure, mixed with a cozy mystery. I highly recommend.
